Backlight! is a free Android app/widget designed to adjust screen brightness levels with ease. This tool streamlines the process by allowing users to modify brightness settings with a simple click. Notably, users have the flexibility to set custom brightness levels and even link the function to a gesture or primary dock for convenient access.

Please be aware of the following:

1. Compatibility issue with Sense UI devices, such as Hero.
2. Possible conflict with Juice Defender, as JD may override brightness adjustment requests made by this app.

Android devices typically recognize brightness values ranging from 1 to 255, with 1 denoting the dimmest and 255 indicating the brightest setting. Additionally, Backlight! supports automatic brightness adjustments, with default levels set at 1, 50, 150, and 255 correspondingly. To engage Auto Brightness mode, users can employ the letter 'a'.

It is important to note that Backlight! exclusively manages screen brightness levels and does not affect keyboard illumination or other light functions on the device.
